Historic Theater Turned Modern Office Space
A Five-Story Renovation
Dating back to 1917, the Madison Building was known as the first major movie theater in Detroit. In 2011, Sachse Construction was selected to renovate the five-story Madison Theater Building in downtown Detroit at the epicenter of Detroit’s burgeoning technology district. The state-of-the-art building has collaborative work areas and meeting rooms, a 135-seat auditorium, the addition of a rooftop event space overlooking Comerica Park and Ford Field, and a coffee shop on the first floor.

Sachse Construction’s efforts landed The Madison the winner of ‘The Outstanding Building of the Year’ (TOBY) Award.

Modernizations include SMART building technology allowing for remote control operating systems, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
