Broder & Sachse Celebrates Reopening of Historic Apartment Building in Detroit

Broder & Sachse Real Estate recently celebrated the reopening of The Hamilton Midtown, a historic multifamily rehabilitation with an inclusionary housing program. City of Detroit dignitaries, residents and special guests joined Broder & Sachse for the reopening event.

Originally designed as an apartment hotel that opened in 1913, The Hamilton Midtown provides a unique living experience for Detroiters, combining the property’s historic charm with modern design. Located at 40 Davenport, the property includes a variety of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units, with starting rental prices starting at $722 per month. The $12 million rehabilitation features new amenities.

Community spaces at The Hamilton include a main-floor lounge complete with gaming and other entertainment, a living room with a coffee station, a fitness and wellness center, a dog washing station and a bike repair station.

The rehabilitation of the building included the restoration of the ballroom in a nod to the building’s 100-plus-year-old history. The Hamilton Midtown is one of more than 250 properties in Detroit listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Sachse Construction served as the construction manager and Hamilton Anderson Associates was the architect.
