Students See Opportunities to Build Future

Hundreds of Detroit-area high school students got a chance to try their hands at skilled trades Tuesday for the third annual Sachse Construction Academy in Eastern Market. There were dozens of modules and speakers, including Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder. Students were able to sign up for educational opportunities or learn how to pursue skilled-trade careers. The program is a partnership between Sachse and Junior Achievement of Southeastern Michigan along with Wolverine, Shurtape, and Carhartt.
