Sachse Construction Strengthens Team with Industry Veterans Art Eckert and Oscar Notz

DETROIT, MI – June 10, 2025 – Sachse Construction is pleased to announce the strategic addition of two highly respected industry veterans to its team: Art Eckert as Vice President of Business Development and Oscar Notz as Vice President of Retail Operations. The announcement was made by Steve Berlage, President & COO of Sachse Construction, as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its capabilities, deepening client partnerships, and supporting national growth.

Art Eckert will serve as Vice President of Business Development. Art brings over 25 years of construction and program management experience to Sachse. Most recently, he served as Principal at Plante Moran Realpoint (formerly Plante Moran Cresa), where he successfully led major capital improvement programs across healthcare, industrial, mixed-use, and corporate sectors—delivering over 2.5 million square feet of projects with values up to $130 million. His prior leadership roles include Vice President of Construction and Development at JB Donaldson Company, Project Executive at Beaumont Health, and Project Manager at Skanska US Building. Art holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Michigan State University and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, where he has served on the local product council. 

Oscar Notz will serve as Vice President of Retail Operations at Sachse Construction. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Oscar leads operational strategy, project execution, and team development for the company’s expanding national retail division. Prior to joining Sachse, he was the Special Projects Division Manager for Turner Construction’s Michigan Business Unit, where he oversaw complex, schedule-driven projects for high-profile clients including the Downtown Detroit Partnership, Verizon, Chase Bank, Siemens, Deloitte, Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, DTE, Henry Ford Health, Oakland University, and Olympia Development, among many others. Oscar holds a Master of Engineering in Construction Engineering and Management from the University of Michigan and is known for building results-driven teams that thrive under pressure. His leadership strengthens Sachse’s retail platform and reinforces the company’s mission to deliver excellence in service and execution nationwide.
