Sachse Construction served as general contractor for the Museum of Illusions Detroit, marking the franchise’s debut in Michigan. Located within a 120-year-old building, the 17,000 sq. ft. interior fit-out required highly specialized execution and precise coordination to bring a series of immersive optical illusion exhibits to life.
The project included technically exacting installations such as the Reverse Room, featuring fully inverted furniture and finishes. The team also navigated a significant logistical challenge—a six-hour time difference with the client—requiring disciplined, accelerated communication to maintain the schedule and avoid critical path delays.
The successful delivery of the Detroit location has strengthened Sachse Construction’s relationship with the client, leading to continued collaboration, including a confirmed project in Sacramento and additional opportunities in the pipeline. As part of this growing partnership, Luka Novak, Chief Development Officer, also participated in Sachse’s 2026 Retail Summit in New York City, further reinforcing alignment between the teams.
The finished space stands as a testament to Sachse Construction’s ability to manage complex conditions with precision, delivering a visually striking, fully operational destination that adds to Detroit’s growing cultural landscape.
