Sachse Construction, in collaboration with Rossetti and Giffels Webster, transformed a formerly underutilized parking lot behind Straight Gate Church into a vibrant community gathering space. The Love Thy Neighborhood Park created a welcoming public area where neighbors could connect, play, and enjoy year-round programming.

The park features a versatile outdoor court for basketball, roller skating, soccer, and street hockey. Visitors can also enjoy life-sized chess and checkers, relax in covered seating areas, and take in the surrounding greenery.

This transformation serves as the first pilot project for The Neighborhood Passport initiative, which aims to activate vacant lots across Detroit by developing well-designed, environmentally conscious, and themed community spaces. Sachse Construction was proud to support a project that brings new energy, beauty, and opportunity to the neighborhood.
