As the construction manager for Ground Effects, Sachse Construction performed buildouts and renovations at four automotive manufacturing facilities across Michigan, including those in Dearborn, Detroit, Flint, and Warren. The scope of work varied between locations and included electrical, mechanical, exterior repair and restoration, flooring, structural steel, overhead doors, and architectural interior finishes. Everything was installed to meet the specific needs of the end-users. Each project included an expedited schedule to meet the client’s deadline.
Project challenges included adhering to an accelerated schedule, using existing site conditions as much as possible, installing large overhead doors in masonry wall openings, and installing large trench drains to existing flooring that lacked proper slope.
Strong communication and work coordination were key to executing the schedule. Sachse Construction worked with trade partners to find solutions and get work in place correctly, in a timely and high-quality manner. Additionally, prior experience helped us understand schedules for installing specialized equipment and coordinate with other renovation activities.
Sachse Construction completed this project, achieving an accelerated schedule and ultimately helping Ground Effects meet production deadlines for its automotive clients.
