The Stories: A Key Piece of City Modern

The Stories at 265 Alfred is one of the signature residential buildings within City Modern, the transformative redevelopment of Detroit’s historic Brush Park neighborhood. Designed to blend seamlessly into the larger master-planned community, The Stories contributes to City Modern’s vision of creating a vibrant, walkable urban district that honors the area’s architectural character while introducing contemporary living.

This three-story, 12-unit building features modern apartment homes thoughtfully designed for today’s urban residents. High-quality finishes, efficient layouts, and abundant natural light create a warm and inviting living experience. The building’s design complements the surrounding streetscape, helping to reestablish the neighborhood’s historic density and pedestrian-friendly feel.

As part of the larger City Modern development, which introduces more than 400 new residential units across multiple buildings, The Stories plays a key role in revitalizing Brush Park. Its addition supports the project’s broader mission of reconnecting the neighborhood to Downtown and Midtown through intentional design, diverse housing options, and community-focused urban planning.

By delivering The Stories at 265 Alfred, Sachse Construction helped bring to life a building that not only enhances Detroit’s residential offerings but also contributes meaningfully to the continued renewal of one of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods.
