The Flats at 124 Alfred is one of the cornerstone residential buildings within City Modern, the visionary redevelopment bringing new energy and density to Detroit’s historic Brush Park neighborhood. As an early phase of the master plan, this building helped establish the contemporary architectural language and walkable urban character that define City Modern today.
This four-story mixed-use structure features 54 modern residential units designed for efficient, comfortable urban living. High-quality finishes, open layouts, and large windows create bright, inviting spaces for residents. At street level, 5,760 square feet of retail space activates the sidewalk and supports the development’s goal of fostering a lively, connected community. The building also includes a floor of underground parking, offering 3,478 square feet of secure, convenient resident parking within the dense urban footprint.
As part of City Modern’s multi-building effort to introduce more than 400 new residential units to Brush Park, The Flats at 124 Alfred plays a key role in shaping the neighborhood’s resurgence. Its combination of residential, retail, and integrated parking supports the development’s broader goals of walkability, urban connectivity, and a balanced mix of uses.
Through its thoughtful design and contribution to the larger master plan, 124 Alfred stands as a foundational piece of City Modern and a catalyst for the renewed vibrancy of Brush Park.
