Sachse is bringing new vitality to Detroit’s Corktown with The Preserve on Ash, a 371-unit mixed-income multifamily development. This project is made possible through key partnerships and funding from the Choice Neighborhoods program (HUD/Detroit HRD), LIHTC (MSHDA), and Brownfield Tax Credits, ensuring a positive impact on the community.
The development provides much-needed housing options, with around 190 rental units thoughtfully placed on scattered sites near 14th and Ash Streets in North Corktown. Additionally, 181 rental units will be developed on the “Ford PAL sites” in Historic Corktown, specifically within the area bounded by Rosa Parks Blvd, the Fisher Service Drive, and Cochrane St.
Beyond construction, Sachse has prioritized strong community relationships, undertaking more than 100 impactful outreach endeavors for the project. This commitment includes cultivating partnerships with many minority organizations and trade partners throughout the city, as well as actively participating in and organizing numerous local outreach events.
