MIXED-USE RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN DOWNTOWN DETROIT

ULTIMATE IN URBAN LIVING

Sachse Construction completed Woodward West, a  mixed-use apartment building in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. The finished development includes 204 residential units and 25,000 square feet of retail space. The team worked closely with the architect, Hamilton Anderson Associates, and the owner, The Platform, during the preconstruction phase. This early involvement allowed our team to deliver savings opportunities to the owner while maintaining the integrity of the design and the overall project.

Sachse Construction worked with a third-party consultant to ensure the building was designed and built in a way that avoided both short- and long-term envelope issues. The consultant evaluated various areas, including:

  • Air barrier
  • Rainscreen siding
  • Window/Patio door openings
  • Storefront
  • Membrane roof

Designed by Hamilton Anderson, the development features a rooftop terrace, fitness center, and theater room. The new apartments are designed in a way that honors and contributes to Detroit’s social and physical fabric, creating places and spaces that bring people together. Residents will enjoy all the dining and entertainment Midtown offers. The development features studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments with beautiful finishes. The new multi-family building opened in the summer of 2022.
