LONG-STANDING RETAIL CLIENT
NATIONAL PROGRAM
Sachse Construction has worked with West Elm across the country, most recently completing the West Elm store in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The scope of work included tenant improvements to a 20,989-square-foot retail space. West Elm wished to relocate from one outlet mall to a neighboring outlet mall, approximately two miles away. Due to project phasing, the Sachse Construction team was also awarded landlord work that began first and eventually overlapped with the tenant work. Sachse has completed other West Elm stores in Fairfax, Virginia, and Portland, Maine. The project in Fairfax, Virginia was a store buildout of an entire first floor of a new mixed-use facility. During this project, residential apartment units were in the process of being built on the floors above. Coordination with the other construction partner working on the residential units was a key element to this project’s success. A challenge the team faced was scheduling and coordination of the shared loading dock. To overcome this, Sachse Construction and the other construction partner created a schedule to manage deliveries. The client was very satisfied with the team’s ability to find solutions and preplan to prevent obstacles from occurring. Trust and close communications between Sachse Construction and West Elm have allowed the relationship the flourish.
