Sachse Construction managed the construction for multiple Fresenius Medical Centers throughout southeastern Michigan in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Canton, Detroit, Monroe, and Lansing. The projects ranged from fit-outs of a new space to renovations of an occupied office.

Maintaining a clean work area and limiting disruptions to occupied buildings were two of the main challenges the project team faced. Given the facilities’ locations in existing medical office buildings, it was crucial to maintain dust control and air quality. The team was also responsible for meeting the State of Michigan’s strict requirements, which allowed Fresenius Medical Care to conduct regular office operations and treatments.

Barriers were assembled to keep construction activities separate. Additionally, the project teams used multiple air filters throughout the space to ensure high air quality standards. Demolition, or any work that created disruptive noises, was conducted during off-hours, so patients were not affected. The teams installed larger water lines to increase water so that Fresenius could continue to perform dialysis during construction while the team took the other lines out of service. The client was delighted with Sachse Construction’s ability to meet deadlines and maintain constant communication. The Sachse Construction teams developed a strong relationship with Fresenius and were hired to complete many of their other medical office projects.
