DeVry University Chamberlain School of Nursing
Elevating Student Success
Higher Education Demolition & Remodeling
DeVry University’s Chamberlain College of Nursing school added an Accredited Nursing school in Troy, Michigan. Sachse Construction was hired as the construction manager to manage and meet DeVry’s aggressive schedule. The project included the demolition and remodeling of the 35,000 square foot area that was divided into two smaller spaces.
The nursing school has a library and Center of Academic Success that are separated by a common corridor with other tenants of the building. The second space consisted of an administration area and classrooms. The classrooms are equipped with state-of-the-art simulation labs that have mannequins the students can learn from. The $2,300,000 construction project included new mechanical and electrical upgrades and extensive piping and controls for the labs.
Sachse Construction was also hired as the construction manager for DeVry University’s IT School location in Southfield, Michigan. The building was initially an office property, so Sachse Construction needed to convert the space to be used for educational purposes. The team successfully re-purposed the space into classrooms, offices, and break rooms. Since this location would soon house DeVry University’s IT School, data centers had to be built to code to prevent moisture for entering the rooms. Sachse Construction completed MEP upgrades for the building, along with the installation of a new HVAC system.
