Working Around the Work

Sachse Construction led the renovation of Actia, a 64,000 square foot manufacturing and testing facility in Romulus, MI. The scope of work encompassed the renovation of the manufacturing area, mechanical room, and installation of new rooftop air compression units.

The manufacturing area shows a number of pieces of equipment that operate in an environment similar to a clean room. Finishes in this area included an epoxy-based floor covering, electrostatic dissipater (ESD) flooring, new paint, the replacement of some windows, fire protection, and a new storefront. Additionally, the facility received a new HVAC system with the installation of 13 new air compressors on the roof as well as two new air compressors, a generator, and a boiler in the mechanical room. The project team coordinated directly with Actia on the logistics of working in an operating facility with sensitive equipment, employee offices, and a warehouse near the work area.
